The Word of God - Unchained.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, many of us have experienced isolation during the lockdown. For many persecuted believers, isolation is often part of their daily lives.
Mojtaba, an Iranian, was arrested for leading a secret house church and was ‘incarcerated in Evin prison for over three years.' He feared that God was punishing him. However, in his prison cell, Mojtaba felt burdened to evangelise his fellow prisoners, believing that he could work in any circumstances for God’s kingdom wherever God placed him.
Mojtaba shared the gospel and many came to faith in Jesus. He was burdened for access to Bibles and, miraculously, a kindly imam, who often visited the prison, agreed to bring sections of the Bible in English into the prison. This opened up a way for him to translate the Scriptures and to share the blessed hope of the Gospel with other prisoners.
As a result, many prisoners came to faith and Mojtaba exclaimed ‘I didn’t pray to be released from prison as persecution will take the Gospel to places where nothing else can take it’.
God is at work in many wonderful ways and has promised ‘So shall my Word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please.’ Isaiah 55:11
