Christian Convert Released
Majidreza Souzanchi Kushani, an Iranian believer, who was arrested at a house church in November 2017 and imprisoned in Evin prison has recently been granted release. He was charged with ‘promoting house churches’.
In May 2018 he was sentenced to five years imprisonment charged with ‘membership in evangelistic groups and Christian activity, but this was reduced to two years upon appeal in December of the same year. Upon completion of this sentence, he was then transferred to Tehran Central Prison upon charges of theft, which he denied.
We praise God though that on 8th April Majidreza was released four months early.
Please pray for him:
- as he reunites with his children after years of separation.
- that as a welder he would find work quickly in a climate that is experiencing much hardship.
- for peace and strength as he seeks to rebuild his life on the ‘outside’.
