The Persecution Continues
‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble’.
Please pray for three Iranian believers, Amin Khaki, Milad Goodarzi and Alireza Nourmohammadi charged with inciting propaganda against Islam. On 5th May summons were issued charging them with at least two to five years imprisonment.
They have each been ‘released on bail of 250 million tomans’ and have been commanded to report weekly to Intelligence officers within Iran for the next six months.
Other Christians whose homes were raided in November 2020 were also threatened with prison sentences and penalties such as employment restrictions. During these raids bibles, cell phones and laptops were confiscated but none were arrested.
Looming legislation also threatens to increase persecution against religious minorities ‘disproportionately impacting individuals belonging to religious and faith-based minorities and ethnic groups.’ This legislation was granted permission on 13th January 2021 and upon signature of the President has become effective from 5th March 2021.
Please pray for these believers and their families that they would be aware of God’s help and strength at this time.
