Thankful for Persecution - Iran 

On 27th July Hamad Ashouri commenced his sentence charged with ‘propaganda against the regime’ at Karaj Central Prison.
He declared that he is ‘thankful for the persecution and thanks God that Jesus counted him worthy to be his child’.
Hamad was arrested in February 2019 when Iranian security officials raided his home and confiscated Christian materials as well as his computer and hard drive.  He was then released in March 2019 with no further action taken. 
In March 2021 though he was summoned to attend the Court of Karaj on 7th March to answer charges of propaganda against the State. Subsequently, on 12th April he was issued with a ten-month prison sentence.
Another Christian convert Reza Zaeemi is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence in the same prison for propaganda against the State by’ promoting evangelical Christianity’.
