A Wonderful Answer to Prayer

Homayoun and Sara, two Christian converts from Iran have been released from Evin Prison and acquitted of any crime after a period of imprisonment since August 2022. They were initially arrested for their involvement in a house church. Despite two rejected appeals, a recent hearing concluded that there was “no evidence” of their acting against national security, recognising that gathering with people of their faith and possessing Christian books were not criminal activities. Open Doors reports that Sara, via Article 18, expressed her gratitude for the prayers they received during their ordeal. She described the moment of solace she found in the spirit of God and how it propelled them towards peace and joy throughout their imprisonment. She considered this experience a significant part of her personal faith development in Jesus. This is a miraculous turn of events and an answer to many prayers. Homayoun’s vulnerability due to Parkinson's disease adds to the significance of their release.

While we celebrate their freedom, please pray for

Homayoun and Sara's healing and well-being as they readjust to daily life.

The safety and release of other Iranian brothers and sisters who are still imprisoned for their faith. Pray that they may find comfort, strength and justice during their difficult times and that they too may experience freedom and relief from persecution.
