Ongoing Harassment

Despite their release from prison last year, three Iranian converts, Amin Khaki, Milad Goudarzi, and Alireza Nourmohammadi, face ongoing harassment by authorities, as reported by Open Doors. Initially sentenced to five years for "deviant propaganda," their term was reduced to three on appeal. They were released in March 2023 but rearrested on 11 December. While Milad was briefly released, Alireza and Amin remained detained until 10 January, still facing charges related to alleged religious activities contrary to Islamic law. Iranian authorities' suspicion towards converts, driven by a belief in Western efforts to undermine Islam, persists despite the country's growing church. Friends and families are grateful for their release but seek support to have all charges dropped. Iran ranks ninth on the World Watch List for persecution of Christians.

Please pray for their safety, for the charges to be dropped, and for the continued growth of the church amidst hostility.
