Jailed for 10 Years
Iranian Christian convert Toomaj Aryan-Kia has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for “propagating Christianity” and alleged collaboration with hostile governments, according to Article 18. Convicted on 5 November by the Revolutionary Court of Karaj, Toomaj also faces a two-year ban on group membership after his release. Despite appealing, his request for retrial was denied.
Toomaj was arrested in October 2022 when intelligence agents raided his home, confiscating items, including Bibles. He endured 28 days in solitary confinement before spending 40 days in Karaj Prison’s general ward and being released on $75,000 bail.
This sentencing reflects Iran’s escalating crackdown on Christians. In 2024 alone, several Christians received lengthy sentences, including one case where a convert was sentenced to 15 years.
Please pray for:
▪ Toomaj’s release and spiritual strength during his imprisonment.
▪ Protection and perseverance for Christians facing persecution in Iran.
