Pregnant Woman Sentenced

Three Christian converts in Iran, including Narges Nasri, who is pregnant with her first child, have been sentenced to over 40 years in prison due to their religious beliefs, as reported by Article Eighteen. Narges Nasri, Abbas Soori, and Mehran Shamloui were sentenced on 8 March 2025 by judge Iman Afshari, known for harsh rulings.

Narges received the longest sentence—16 years in total—on charges like “propaganda against Islamic law” and “opposition group membership (house church)” for "propaganda against the state" supporting by the Women, Life, Freedom movement. Abbas, 48, was given 15 years, while Mehran, 37, received 10 years.

The three were also stripped of social rights, including health, employment, and education, and faced heavy fines. Arrested in November 2024 during coordinated raids, they were detained, interrogated, and later released on bail. Despite the severity of their sentences, their courage in the face of oppression remains a testament to their faith.

Please pray:
For the strength and endurance of Narges, Abbas, and Mehran as they face unjust imprisonment.

For Narges’ safe pregnancy and that she and her unborn child are protected throughout this difficult time.

For the protection and comfort of their families during this challenging period.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 5:10
