REFUGEES IN GREECE

THE MOTIVATION:
As Amir recovers from a recent illness he desires to make his walking count to help others,

“Before I became unwell I was planning to travel to Greece to help the refugees there. Now, I’d like to offer up my walking to help those who have walked hundreds of miles, through many borders, to find a place of refuge.” Amir

THE SITUATION
The Greek system for helping asylum seekers is substandard leaving many starving and homeless. As winter is fast approaching and with it harsher conditions, at Hamsayeh we’d like to help with providing hot meals, blankets & basic family needs for those living in the camps. This we hope to do with a partner organisation (who has a close association to Acts 29) who minister daily to many Afghans and Iranians on the ground. Along with this necessary practical help they give they have seen many respond to the Gospel message and hundreds be baptised and discipled.

THE PLAN
During the month of October Amir aims to walk an amazing 150 miles to raise a whopping £5,000 to help refugees in Greece.

On 31/10/2021- 150 miles were completed!!!

HOW TO HELP

We understand that no one can help everyone but everyone can help someone.

In this case, if you give a gift, regardless of its size, we will ensure it reaches Greece safely. Please be sure to earmark it for "Refugees in Greece" & gift Aid it if you can.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me….

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:35-36, 40.
